My Appoach

My clients often find therapy to be genuinely transformative. My aim is to create a safe, accepting, non-judgemental and confidential space for you. Here, we can work co-operatively to explore and create meaning from what it is you wish to bring to therapy. Through this dialogue, we can begin to recognise new, emerging possibilities and the potential for genuine change.

Therapy, for me, is something we do together in the present—a partnership—something for which we have a shared responsibility.

I work relationally, with an emphasis on attunement, acceptance and empathy. I am sex-positive and gender-affirming.

Initial Assessment

Before we work together, I will arrange to have an initial assessment session with you. This is an opportunity for us to discuss your current situation and what you hope to gain from therapy. It allows us to get to know each other a little, and gain an impression of how we might work together in the future.

Sessions would ordinarily happen weekly, either in-person at Physis Scotland in Edinburgh, or on-line over Zoom. Sessions are 50 minutes long.

Remote Sessions

It is important that if we are to work over Zoom, that you have a quiet, comfortable, confidential space to work, where you will not be interrupted. You will need to install the Zoom software, and have a reliable Internet connection.
